Odds And Ends

update 26-08-2014 and 12-10-2014, see below:

Dragging all the scripts of the mother plugin through MWEdit, I found some
embarrassing little mistakes in the scripts that, of course, also existed in
its spinoff plugins. These have been corrected, and Nels Llendo will no longer
have the "proposition" topic once he's at the Halfway Inn. And a smooch sound
has been added for his kiss, source:

Later, it struck me that the repaired scripts belong in the ESM that this
plugin depends on, and I heard that the rings might cause bugs if they were
not set to persistent; hence the second update.

(This plugin needed a solution for the duplication of the second Ienith brother
when loading two or more plugins that needed to place him for use with scripts.
Hence the extra ESM, which is also included with ErrandsForOrvas.)

This plugin takes a bunch of small alterations from an unfinished companion mod
to make a Morrowind-only mod that doesn't require said companion to interfere
with missions. It doesn't alter the startup script or any NPC scripts (except
Ranes Ienith, who has to be placed in the game to be able to refer to him in
other scripts). To get round the need for a startup script, rings that run a
"cleanup" script are hidden in Seyda Neen, Balmora, Ald'ruhn and Vivec. Another
ring is hidden in the Arena to start Dratha's fight with the atronachs. Because
these rings are only loaded if the player has never been in these locations
before (or hasn't been there for a while?) it's best to start a new game. I
haven't thoroughly tested what happens when this plugin is used with a
savefile, but casual testing shows the rings won't work.

The changes are:

-Small corrections, like Aurane Frernis telling the PC "you are expelled from
house Hlaalu" when clearly it should have been Nileno Dorvayn.

-"Naked" (using Better Bodies without painted-on underwear) characters are
dressed. (The ones I know of. I may have missed one. I didn't do anything about
Desele's House of Earthly Delights because I have a separate mod in mind for
that.)

-Dratha, Aryon, and Gothren have more spells. Too bad the AI won't seem to let
them use them.

-The topic "Gadayn Andarys" is added when you find his letter, so Glathel can
tell you what she thinks of him.

-You can now return Listien Bierles' clothes and Edras Oril's notes.

-When Persius tells you to kill the Fighters Guild bosses, if Eydis has been
given the Bitter Cup, she won't attack when she sees you.

-If male, you can now ask Nels Llendo to give him a kiss instead of 50 drakes,
as long as your Personality is 90 or higher. If you don't have money (and
can't use the alternative payment) and you have a high enough Personality (50),
Reputation (5) or Speechcraft (50) you can promise to pay later. If female,
you can ask for more than a kiss.

(Gender-neutral romance with Ahnassi is included with ErrandsForOrvas.)

-Pilgrims and travellers are returned or disabled when their quest is over:
Nevrasa Dralor is put in Gnisis.
Deval Beleth is returned to his mother's smithy.
Teris Raledran and his guar Rollie go back to the place where you met them.
Fonus Rathryon and Viatrix Petilia are disabled.
Marsius Tullius goes to Tel Aruhn where his father is waiting.

These moves are taken care of by the cleanup script when you are in a
different cell from the people being moved, so if they seem stuck in place,
travel to one of the four places where the rings are hidden.

-Some Morag Tong quests are "nicer":

--Let Feruren Oran off for the spell he teaches you. Or get the spell from him
and let him off for a glass throwing star.

--If you have 40+ Speechcraft and the patience to cast Calm Humanoid spells
on Odaishah Yasalmibaal while he bashes at you, he will propose that you take
him to a mabrigash camp, where he will hide from the Telvanni. Later, you
won't have to trade Assaba-Bentus for Jocien, as they've already got a
replacement.

--If you have 40+ Speechcraft when going after Toris Saren, he'll explain who
wants him dead and ask you to bring her to his house so he can apologize.

--Speak to Mervs Uvayn about the writ for Galasa Uvayn, and he'll make sure
it's revoked.

--Ditto Orvas Dren for the Ienith brothers, Crassius Curio for Dram Bero
(Yngling will refer you to Crassius for a bribe), Aryon for Baladas Demnevanni
and the Duke himself for Larrius Varro. (These are characters that are either
needed for quests or maintaining good relations, or just goodguys. I mean, why
kill Larrius Varro? He may have a soul-capturing sword, but the Umbra sword is
better, and belongs to someone who WANTS to die.)

-Some Telvanni quests are "nicer":

--Give Ra'zahr a scroll of Almsivi or Divine Intervention before giving him
Therana's skirt so he can save himself. Pick him up where he went and free him
for Twin Lamps cred (if he doesn't want to be freed, lead him to another cell
and try again).

--The Black Jinx may only be worn by high-ranking Morag Tong members, so how
about asking Dratha to join the Morag Tong? Take her to Eno Hlaalu's hideout
(she will zap you both from her tower to Vivec and back) and he will tell her
to defeat three atronachs in the Arena. Due to STUPID AI (NPCs will only use
spells and scrolls the game editor gave them) causing her to use lightning
attacks on a storm atronach, I had to add regenerative abilities and potions
through a script, and despite that she may STILL die (in which case you can
nab the potions off her corpse) so unless you want her dead, feel free to
lend her a hand. Once she's a member, you can pick up the ring from Sadrith
Mora.

--No need to kill Senise Thindo for her robe: ask Edwinna Elbert about it and
lead Senise to her. She will tell you what she needs to make a copy of it.
(Hint: Dratha will provide you with half of what you need when she defeats
the atronachs.) Neloth will be furious, but now you can get your own Robe of
Drake's Pride.

Senise is a high-level character, so your trip to Ald'ruhn might lead past
some dwarven ruins, caves, any place where you need extra firepower.

--Berengeval will gladly trade the amulet of Flesh Made Whole for a Robe of
Drake's Pride.

--If you have a Reputation of 15 or higher and Therana sends you to get
Auriel's Bow (which won't happen until you're a Mouth anyway) Ralyn Othravel
will lend it to you so the crazy wizard can play with it. He expects you to
return it (if you do, you get a brownie point).

Note: NPCs that follow have not had their scripts changed and don't have the
warping code that companion mods generally use, so it's easy to lose them.
Senise can be told to follow or wait, Dratha and Odaishah will switch to
following mode when greeted.
