BOTPHood

This is the neighbourhood which grew around my attempts to make a Katze skin; in Battle of the Planets, Katze was split up into the Spectran leader Zoltar and his sister Mala, allowing me to use the male and female uniform at the same time. To reflect the way G-Force was babied (they lived in Center Neptune in Chief Anderson's custody, as opposed to the Gatchaman team who had jobs, homes and lives of their own) this hood shows them as children; the adult versions live in the Gatchahood. All these houses are LL-compatible, although some were meant to be used in House Party.

Any custom skins made by me can be downloaded from the Skins and Meshes page, henceforth abbreviated to SaMP.

Lot 1: President Kane
(last uploaded 15-10-2008, to correct the face icon)
I took the house that came with the game and put lots of expensive stuff in it. Now all he needs is a butler, a housekeeper and a limo. The body skin is from Skin Pack One, a Maxis skin pack included with most later expansion sets.
Custom skin:
SaMP: kanehead.zip for the president's head.

Lot 2: DN-5
(last uploaded: 09-07-2007)
The BOTP version of Gatchaman's "Demon-5": the flower power rock group that was forced to make "evil music". They live in a huge house to suit their star status (although they're barely beyond Subway Musician on the career ladder) with a white plastic look downstairs and soft woolly carpet upstairs, where I've left a huge room empty for House Party elements. The patio tiles downstairs can be replaced by HP dancing tiles.
Though originally I wasn't going to skin them, I changed my mind, so:
Custom skins:
SaMP: demon5.zip.
(For various reasons, they're not wearing their stage clothes. These will be added later, in both normal and High-Fashion versions.)

Lot 3: G-Force
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
The house has nothing whatsoever to do with Center Neptune, but is intended to mimic the kind of quarters G-Force must have had: sleeping rooms for each, and common study/rec rooms. A little kid's paradise, with one hitch: the adult lives elsewhere. Hacked objects will be needed to play this family. (See the Essential Hacks.)
Custom skins:
SaMP: gf-cust.zip for the G-Force team, and the CBL, CCH and CSM custom body type defaults.

Lot 4: Chief Anderson
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
It's useless to try and build Nambu's (Chief Anderson's) mansion in this game, but I think this comes close in spirit. Deep red carpeting and wooden panelling in a house that is quite small and obviously suited only for one person. Like the president, this character seemed easy to skin, and it took a year to finish the job.
Custom skins:
SaMP: anderson.zip.

Lot 5: Don and ma Wade
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
In BOTP, he was an ex-G-Force member, defecting to Spectra in anger at being rejected. In Gatchaman, he was simply a poor young scientist responding to Katze's career offer, whose dear old mother the Condor accidentally cannoned into. Not only do these Wades have a huge house with staggered swimming pool - quite unlike their dusty old apartment - but Don has his own hideout to do scientific stuff in, with a fridge in case he feels peckish. These characters are 99% standard Maxis material; only the hair had to be recoloured.
Custom skins:
SaMP: wades.zip for the recoloured-hair textures. For Ma, the improved skinny default files, bskswim.zip, and bskswhd.zip for Hot Date or later.

Lot 6: the Red Rangers
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
These are the lesser two members of the Red Impulse team, the Red Rangers in BOTP. Unlike most characters, they had to build and furnish their barracks with the measly 20,000 Simoleans they came with. The two houses, one sober, the other bright and colourful, form an open courtyard and share many facilities, notably a large dining table outside. The Rangers, too, look so close to the originals (although the second one should have a much narrower face) that they'll be left as they are, although a Red Ranger uniform is in the making.

Lot 7: the rulers of Spectra
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
Ah, the villains of the piece (boo, hiss)! Like president Kane, they bought an existing house, but unlike the prez, they rebuilt it with a mecha landing strip, a lobby with voodoo doll to vent frustrations from failed missions, and a bedroom in shades of purple. The ground floor remains cheap and trashy, but is good enough for receiving Earthlings. Now, all they need is some green goons to terrorize the hood. ^_^
Custom skins:
SaMP: simkatze.zip, not to be confused with the original upload that used mesh codes already used by others; this one has been redone and the hairstyles made into separate "suit" files. The What Hair Day mirror needed to add these suits to the Sim can be downloaded from the custom objects page. Also, the improved skinny default files, bskswim.zip, and bskswhd.zip for Hot Date or later.

Lot 8: the Hosts
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
Totally unconnected with BOTP, these fictive disco owners from, supposedly, pleasure planet Odin, are simply an attempt to, erm, add some colour to the neighbourhood. They provide neutral territory where all sides can mix and mingle, and were also intended to try out House Party objects; a HP version with many party objects has been added on 15-02-2005. Their etablissement features: a disco downstairs; a relaxation room upstairs; stuff to amuse the kids outside, a swimming pool that wraps around the building and a small restaurant at the back. In the HP version, the pastel-tinted upstairs rooms have had a makeover and the downstairs disco has been enhanced.

Lot 9: Captain Harper & son
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
A single parent with a modest income from fishing, captain Jack Harper (his surname is never given, but in the original he is Ryu/Tiny's father) has built a small, cosy, affordable house with just under 20,000 Simoleans. Be it ever so humble...
Custom skins:
SaMP: harpers.zip, and the CBL and M-SUM custom body type defaults.

Lot 10: Captain Cronos
(last uploaded: 17-01-2007)
Like those of the other Red Rangers, this man's home was built off the standard Sims' measly budget. In one word: Spartan.
Custom skins:
SaMP: cronos.zip.
