Extended Animehood

This neighbourhood was built in, and is compatible with, The Sims Unleashed, with Deluxe objects, floors and wallpapers added for most lots. The original neighbourhood is left empty to allow the importing of the Animehood or BOTPhood lots. The extended animehood consists mostly of existing redecorated houses, but has a few new ones. It is inhabited only by Sailor Moon characters and Rei Ayanami versions. Why Sailor Moon? Well, I found a number of SM skins that impressed me, and this Sims version allows cats. I'm using the original names (in the Japanese order, meaning, surname first), but for dub-watchers: the hood includes the extras Greg, Chad and Andrew.

The custom skins and sites where they can be found are listed with each lot; if there is no direct link to the site, see the Sim links.

Any custom skins made by me can be downloaded from the Skins and Meshes page, henceforth abbreviated to SaMP.

E-Animehood

Hood finished 28-09-2003, except for houses 50, 51, 55 and 66 which were updated with ATN high-fashion strings on 30-09-2004.

Update 01-2007: added bios to character pics. Most of the characters use other people's skins, so, skinners take note: any sarcasm in the bios is aimed at the anime character, not at your work.

Lot 50: Ryo Urawa (new house)
Aware through his ability to see the future that "they" are coming for him, Urawa diagonally divided his house and put in some secret doors leading to camouflaged exits. He usually sleeps on the ground floor, where he has a voodoo doll handy to defend himself against anyone on the premises, but in moments of paranoia he retreats to the aluminium-shielded bedroom upstairs. A hospitable character nevertheless, he made the top floor child- and pet-friendly.
Custom skins:
SaMP: Urawa contained in smboys.zip, and the M-ATN body type files.

Lot 51: Kumada Yuichiro (no house at all)
His parents are rich and own a house in the mountains, but (youthful rebellion?) Yuichiro plays the homeless bum with nothing but a dustbin, a phone and a campfire to roast his marshmallows over, spongeing off his neighbours. Someone had better set him up with one of the Reis fast.
Custom skins:
SaMP: Yuichiro contained in smboys.zip, and the M-ATN body type files.

Lot 52: Ayanami Rei (new house)
Poor orphan, she was given only the standard Sim starting capital to build and furnish her own home. Consequently, it's rather bare, the only luxury being the soft green carpeting in the bedroom.
Custom skins:
Rei's head mesh/skin: C4x0.zip and SD_Rei.zip from BlueSims.
Rei's body skin: rei-school.zip from Jupe's Sims.
Both sites are dead. Can't find the files by Googling? Then email me, but don't forget to put "sims" in the subject line. Or if you can tell me where these files are hosted now, I'd be glad to put in the new link.

Lot 53: the two Senshi-babies
The two juniors decided to live on their own, far from bossy older sisters. Proving that they can do everything grownups can, they have their own kitchen and vegetable patch, for which they regularly buy seeds in child-friendly shops, an iguana and a computer room, a balcony for their dollhouse upstairs and a beautiful garden to play in. Now let's hope a stray will move in with them to keep the rabbits out... (NB. This one requires a lot of hacked objects! I hacked my own pet bowl, counter, veggie patch etc. but didn't put them up for download as they all have missing animations. Hacked phones and bills can be downloaded from the Essential Hacks page.)
Custom skins:
Chibi-Usa: Jean_Sailor_MiniMoon.zip from Jeannie's Bottle of Sims.
Hotaru: contained in Jean_Sailor_SatPluto.zip from Jeannie's Bottle of Sims. If the download contains a skin called "b2S9fafitlgt_Saturn.bmp", it has to be renamed to "b2S9fcchd_SailorSaturn.bmp".

Lot 54: Kino Makoto
(ATL version uploaded 16-03-2009)
A big house for one single girl? If you like space, it fills up quickly enough. Except as this house isn't so much big, as long and narrow. The piano, TV, computer desk, jukebox and country couches - it only just fits in.
Custom skins:
Makoto: adSJup.zip and adSLita.zip from Solace of Sims.
To change the skins for the ATL version, see Dealing with different heights. This version needs the F-ATL body type files.

Lot 55: Chiba Mamoru
(last uploaded 24-09-2004)
No one deserves an apartment as large as this. Especially not the college boy who always manages to trip over Usagi. Well-lit entry, two living rooms, swimming pool etc. etc. Some items have been purchased for feline visitors.
Custom skins:
SaMP: Mamoru contained in smboys.zip, and the M-ATN body type files.

Lot 56: Ayanami Rei
The first Rei to settle into Simsville, she soon made the rustic house fit for habitation, planted a vegetable garden and became friends with the neighbourhood strays. Life as a subsistence farmer is hard, but the quaint surroundings make up for much.
Custom skins:
Rei: rei_ayanami.zip from Simsbox.com. It should be at the URL "http://www.geocities.com/je_mirror/eng/engart/", but that crashes my browser every time I visit it.

Lot 57: the MysticMeatballs
A tour de force in hair modelling. Their surname derives from Usagi's nickname, "meatball-head", given to her by the ever-pleasant Mamoru over her hairstyle; a hairstyle which turns out to be common both in the royal family of the Moon Kingdom and the higher spheres of planetary beings. The house, a standard Unleashed home, was furnished bit by bit as these people were forced to struggle for a living without money cheats - with four wage-owners, that shouldn't be hard. The Moonlight Knight stays at home to do some exotic cooking; the Queen-Mother and Queen-elect have joined the long arm of the Law. And once Chibi-Usa had been returned to her own family, the MMs finally had room for a cat to get rid of the rabbits!
Custom skins:
Sailor Cosmos: adSCos.zip from Solace of Sims.
Sailor Chibi-Chibi: adScc.zip from Solace of Sims.
Queen Serenity: adQSer.zip from Solace of Sims.
Queen Neo-Serenity: adNQSer2.zip from Solace of Sims.
Wicked Lady: adWLad5.zip from Solace of Sims.
Tuxedo Mask: amdTMask.zip from Solace of Sims.
Moonlight Knight: adMLK.zip from Solace of Sims.
(SaMP: fixmlk.zip, the Moonlight Knight's head, fixed; the original had a missing face.)
Diana: contained in SailorMoonCats.zip from BastDawn's Fantasy Sims.

Lot 59: the Super S's
These upgraded versions of Sailor Moon and Mini-Moon spend their exalted lives in a spacious, chiefly blue Barbie house with heart beds, golden mirrors, pink accents and satin couches; all of which goes nicely with their outfits.
Custom skins:
Eternal Sailor Moon: adEtSM.zip from Solace of Sims.
Adult Chibi-Usa: adSSMM.zip from Solace of Sims.

Lot 60: the Tsukinos
(AVS version uploaded 16-03-2009)
Definitely from the twentieth century, a short, klutzy Usagi lives alone with her pesky future daughter in a roomy house with spacious garden, where a small vegetable plot lies hidden among the trees. It's doubtful they'll have time to tend it, what with having to chase Luna away from the goldfish bowl in the pets' room. (Added later: Shingo, Usagi's equally pesky kid brother.)
Custom skins:
Usagi: adSMo.zip and adSerena.zip from Solace of Sims.
Chibi-Usa: adSMM6.zip from Solace of Sims.
Luna: adLuna.zip from Solace of Sims.
SaMP: Shingo, contained in smboys.zip.
To change the skins for the AVS version of Usagi, see Dealing with different heights. This version needs the F-AVS body type files.

Lot 62: Mizuno Ami
As fond of water as Michiru, but not enough to live around a pool, Ami has made her house a place of learning and fine arts. The swimming pool is chiefly there for guests, so Ami can get on with her reading.
Custom skins:
Ami: adSMerc4.zip from Solace of Sims.

Lot 63: the Senshi girls
Even the large building they selected proved the tiniest bit cramped for the eight of them, so they prefer to eat outside in their large vegetable garden, and have learned from experience that the only way to prevent the eternal queues after mealtimes is to get several dishwashers. This, and the extra walls and beds put in the house, had to be paid for, but the girls were confident that with four wage-earners, four to tend the garden and one rocket to cash in the odd 2300 Simoleans, they would manage. Due to the family's size, they are regrettably unable to adopt any cats and so must count on the scarecrow, guests and visiting strays to combat garden pests.
Custom skins:
Inner Senshi: Jean_Sailor_Moon.zip, Jean_Sailor_Mercury.zip, Jean_Sailor_Mars.zip, Jean_Sailor_Jupiter.zip, Jean_Sailor_Venus.zip from Jeannie's Bottle of Sims.
Outer Senshi: Jean_Sailor_Neptune.zip, Jean_Sailor_Uranus.zip, Jean_Sailor_SatPluto.zip (this contains the files for Sailor Pluto) from Jeannie's Bottle of Sims.

Lot 64: Hino Rei
As cosy as a cottage, Rei's personal temple plus windchimes is strictly a one-person habitation; where would she have fitted grandpa, anyway? When not dispensing blessings, she farms for a living.
Custom skins:
Rei: adSMars5.zip from Solace of Sims.

Lot 65: Meioh Setsuna (new house)
To symbolize the passing of time and the expanding of the universe, the house of the Keeper of Time is shaped like a snailshell, opening outwards from her private quarters. Though she has none herself, cats are welcome, as just the iguana can get a bit boring. No function has been found yet for the starfield-style top floor.
Custom skins:
Setsuna: adSPluto4.zip from Solace of Sims.

Lot 66: Furuhata Motoki (building added)
(last uploaded 24-09-2004)
A nice young man earning his way through college with his job at the arcade, and doing a bit of farming on the side. (As the Sims doesn't have an "arcade" career, he's built his own little arcade near his home; people who have Vacation installed can replace some of its contents with real arcade games.) Cats always welcome.
Custom skins:
SaMP: Motoki contained in smboys.zip, and the M-ATN body type files.

Lot 67: Kaioh Michiru (new house)
Loving water, Michiru has built a great swimming pool that curves right into her house so she can enjoy it in all kinds of weather. This does mean that regular visitors like the maid often swim into the house rather than using the front door. Apart from the bedroom in velvet reds, most of her house is furnished in, er, aquatic shades. She has a job trimming poodles.
Custom skins:
Michiru: adSNep.zip from Solace of Sims.
Look at the house See the inhabitants Download the family

Lot 68: Aino Minako
Leaving her parents, who hadn't a clue about her double life as heroine and crime-fighter Sailor V, this working girl had to earn everything she owns. Consequently, she doesn't own much. On the upside, that means her small house won't get cluttered with belongings. While she's at work, Artemis sleeps and hunts roaches.
Custom skins:
Minako: adSailV.zip (head) and adSVen4.zip (body) from Solace of Sims.
Artemis: adArtemis.zip from Solace of Sims.

Lot 69: Tenoh Haruka
Scorning work in favour of subsistence farming, Haruka finds Diana much stupider than expected - the Feline Funinator had to be sold because she couldn't get down from it - but capable, at least, of mouse-hunting; pity she leaves dead mice all over the place. Life is hard and tiring in her bachelor cottage, but maybe neighbour Michiru will invite her into her sumptuous palace.
Custom skins:
Haruka: adSUran.zip from Solace of Sims.
Diana: adDiana.zip from Solace of Sims.

Lot 76: Tomoe: Hotaru x 2
Brought forward in time by a time loop so she could meet her adult self, Sailor Saturn Junior lives with her older "sister" in a small house that only just accommodates the two of them, with a nasty little yard where they grow their food. Trying to bring as much cheer to the place as possible, they've splurged on little luxuries like the zebra sofa.
Custom skins:
Adult Hotaru: adSSaturn4.zip from Solace of Sims.
Child Hotaru: adCSSat.zip from Solace of Sims.
Look at the house See the inhabitants Download the family

Lot 77: the Senshi girls
Five pretty young girls and two cats have settled in the abandoned, largely unchanged mansion of the old Goths, just across the street from the Starlight Sailors and a very eligible Tuxedo Kamen. The enterprising five quickly replaced that horrible graveyard with colourful flowerbeds and bought some playthings for the corridor upstairs to prepare for the adoption of Usagi's daughter from the future. All this was paid for out of Usagi's job as a pickpocket.
Custom skins:
The five Inner Senshi: sailor_stars.zip from Corry's Factory.
Chibi-Usa: sailor_moon.zip from Corry's Factory.
Luna and Artemis: contained in SailorMoonCats.zip from BastDawn's Fantasy Sims.

Lot 78: the Amazoness Quartet
The servants of Nehalennia (as it was probably meant to be spelled) deserve fitting quarters. Besides, they're so mean they'd scratch each other's eyes out if they had to share too much space. A terrace, another terrace for the hot tub, an extended balcony on the second floor and a garden full of trees; that should keep them happy as children.
Custom skins:
Amazoness Quartet: adCere.zip, adJun.zip, adPalla.zip and adVes.zip from Solace of Sims.
(SaMP: fixjun.zip for JunJun's head, with part of the mesh reassigned so that it no longer crashes the game in Deluxe and later versions.)
Look at the house See the inhabitants Download the family

Lot 79: Ayanami Rei (new house)
"Evil Rei" - given this nickname for her glowing red eyes - appropriately lives in the house of the apocalyptic future, where size and slickness go hand in hand with grimy ugliness. Not that the guests mind; they are more than happy to enjoy the Egg Sofa and the big LCD-screen TV.
Custom skins:
Rei: plugsuitayanami.zip from Jupe's Sims. See comment at lot 52.
The body skin uses the B300FAFit mesh from the Swimsuit Pack. The cmx is included, the mesh is not. To make the skin work, extract the fit female nude mesh from "Animations.far" or, if you've got Hot Date or higher, take "xskin-S100FAFit_original-PELVIS-BODY.skn" from the Skinsbuy directory; rename either of these to "xskin-B300FAFit_01-PELVIS-MBODY.skn" and put it in GameData/Skins.

Lot 80: the Starlights (and Tux)
The best is hardly good enough for the idol group known to the human world as the Three Lights. A fenced-off garden to receive human and feline friends, comfortable sleeping quarters, the best doghouses and toys-for-pets that money can buy, a ground floor consisting of two reading rooms containing everything to stimulate the creative nerve; one would think these are real idol singers, rather than agents of the cosmos in disguise. Tuxie's room, on the other hand, is a cheaply furnished bit of leftover space at the end of a narrow corridor. A hint that they'd like him to move in with someone else?
Custom skins:
The Three Lights: Jean_Sailor_StarsHD.zip from Jeannie's Bottle of Sims.
The three cats: Grim_Pets_Sailorcats.zip from Jeannie's Bottle of Sims.
Tuxedo Kamen: b59fmafit_tmask.zip from Corry's Factory.
The Starlight Sailors HD skins are named in such a way that if the Sims are created female, the sailor suits are their default wear and the three-piece suits are formal wear, and if they're created male, it's the other way round. Having changed them from female to male, I found that the female head files still had to be duplicated/renamed: "xskin-C832Fa_Star1-HEAD-HEAD.skn", "C832Fa_Star1.cmx" and "C832Falgt_Star1.bmp" need to be renamed to "xskin-C832Ma_Star1-HEAD-HEAD.skn", "C832Ma_Star1.cmx" and "C832Malgt_Star1.bmp", and the same applies to "xskin-C833Fa_Star2-HEAD-HEAD.skn", "C833Fa_Star2.cmx", "C833Falgt_Star2.bmp", "xskin-C834Fa_Star3-HEAD-HEAD.skn", "C834Fa_Star3.cmx" and "C834Falgt_Star3.bmp". The CMX files also need to be renamed internally, that is, they must be opened in an ASCII editor (like Notepad) to edit the two filenames in the text. The black glove-hands might need renaming for Formal style, but Formal gloves don't show up in my game, so I haven't bothered.
